Awards Shows are My Own Brand Of Heroin. Eat that Edward Cullen.

Welcome one and all, to the College Football awards preview! Tonight's festivities will be hosted by me, as we look ahead to tomorrow's presentation.

The first award of the night is the
MAXWELL AWARD
And the nominees are...
Tim Tebow, QB, Florida

Mark Ingram, RB, Alabama

Colt McCoy, QB, Texas

The Winner? My money's on Ingram, but I WANT to see McCoy Take it home.

The next award is...
THE DAVEY O'BRIEN

And the nominees are...
Colt McCoy, QB, Texas
Tim Tebow, QB, Florida
Case Keenum, QB, Houston
The winner? I'm thinking McCoy is a shoo-in.

Next we have....
THE DOAK WALKER AWARD

And the nominees are...
Toby Gerhart, RB, Stanford
Mark Ingram, RB, Alabama
CJ Spiller, RB, Clemson
The winner? it'll be close, I think Ingram will just out edge Gerhart here.

THE BILETNIKOFF AWARD

And the nominees are...
Jordan Shipley, WR, Texas
Freddie Barnes, WR, Bowling Green
Golden Tate, WR, Notre Dame
The winner...I'm thinking Shipley. I'm just glad that Crabtree's gone so someone else can actually win this award.

THE JOHN MACKEY AWARD

The Nominees are...
Dorin Dickerson, TE, Pittsburgh
Aaron Hernandez, TE, Florida
and of course I have to give a personal shout-out to our next nominee,
Dennis Pitta, TE, BYU

Otherwise known as one big stud. As for the winner? I actually can see Pitta taking this one, but I also see Hernandez taking it.

THE JIM THORPE AWARD

The Nominees are...
Eric Berry, DB, Tennessee
Joe Haden, DB, Florida
Earl Thomas, DB, Texas
The winner? Berry won the award last year, and I see no reason why he won't do it again.

THE NAGURSKI AWARD

This one was already awarded to who else but Ndamukong Suh.

TED HENDRICKS AWARD
(awarded to the nations best DE in case you were wondering.)

This one was already awarded earlier this week to Jerry Hughes of TCU

DICK BUTKUS AWARD

Already won by Rolando McClain of Alabama

And now for the last award of the night...
THE WALTER CAMP

And the nominees are...
Colt McCoy, QB, Texas
Tim Tebow, QB, Florida
Case Keenum, QB, Houston
Mark Ingram, RB, Alabama
Ndamukong Suh, DT, Nebraska
The Winner? Considering the hype surrounding Suh I can't see him not winning, but I also think that Colt McCoy could take the award for a second straight year.

Lane Kiffin Fought the Law, And the Law Won.

Hope your all having a good Wednesday! It was a sort of eventful day in the world of sports, and this post also includes my picks for the COLLEGE FOOTBALL AWARDS
because frankly, I love awards shows.

In college football news-The University of Tennessee is under investigation by the NCAA yet again. What's happened now you may ask? well it seems in order to get a step up on the Urban Meyer recruiting robots, Kiffin has turned to using "hostesses" to get recruits. Hostesses are not the snack cakes, but the practice of using pretty co-eds to get young impressionable recruits to come to your school. We don't know the entirety of the situation just yet, but considering this is Kiffin's 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000th violation and he hasn't been fired yet, I wouldn't expect too much to happen.

In MLB/News that makes me wanna cry news-Randy Wolf was signed to a three-year contract with the Milwaukee Brewers today worth almost $30 million. We'll miss you here in Dodgertown U.S.A. and we wish you the best.

In NHL News-Hawks play the Rangers tonight.

Now, Its time for...college football awards
Presented by Jessica Alba apparently.

All I Want For Christmas is...

YOU!! (aka Johnathan Toews)

Happy Tuesday all! I hope yours has been better than mine (food poisoning, not fun.) I wish there was a good hockey game on tonight, but sadly the Hawks don't play until tomorrow and even then I don't get the game. (My kingdom for NHL center ice!)

In college football news-the heisman finalists were announced and they were exactly who I said they were.
Toby Gerhart
Colt McCoy
Mark Ingram
Tim Tebow
Ndamukong Suh
I'm really going to miss college football occupying my Saturdays. There is always that void where College football ends, the NFL is winding down, baseball is still in it's off season, I can't quite bring myself to care about the NBA yet, and college basketball is in it's meaningless phase.

In Tiger Woods news-he's a scumbag.
Mysterious things keep happening to Tiger, the latest being his mother-in-law being taken to the hospital from his house. It's all just getting rediculous if you ask me.

NFL news-It's struggling to hold my attention for more than two minutes this season.
Where's T.O. when you need him!? Seriously, if the NFL gets any more boring it's going to collapse on itself. Chad Ocho Cinco is the only entertaining thing about this season. Between having to listen to Rodney Harrison's stupid opinion and having to watch lame crappy teams play in prime time, I'm about ready to switch to Canadian football.

Back to the NHL-Hawks still flying high, Brodeur is chasing records, I still hate the Avalanche, and Sidney Crosby is back after conspicuoulsly missing the game against the Hawks.

And now I leave you with Tuesday Toews:

December, How You Are My Favorite Month!

It's finally good to be a Giants fan again! My G-men swept the cowgirls under the rug last night and were able to reassert themselves in the playoff race. The defense looked better than they had in recent games, and were able to shut down a very good Cowgirl running attack. They just have to work on the pass defense and I think we'll be set!

In college football news, everything that was supposed to happen did.

Alabama took down the all mighty Florida offense, and Tim Tebow acted like a girl about it.
Texas held on against HUGE underdog Nebraska, sneaking away to join the tide in the championship game.
Cinncinatti also creeped away with a win against rival Pittsburgh, earning them a spot in the Sugar Bowl against St. Tim's Gators.

TCU and Boise state were sent to the Fiesta Bowl, which is nothing new for Boise, and exciting stuff for the Horned Frogs. That should be a pretty interesting game to watch to see TCU's dominant defense against the high octane Bronco offense.

My BYU Cougars were banished yet again to the Las Vegas Bowl against the Beavers of Oregon State-Their going to get their trash kicked. Oregon State looked really good against Oregon and could have been in the Rose Bowl right now.

And in C0llege Football awards news, the three finalists for the Heisman Trophy are going to be announced here ASAP.
The Candidates include:
COLT MCCOY, QB, TEXAS

McCoy has had a terrific season thus far, with the exception of the Big 12 Championship game, and now that Texas has their National Championship bid locked up, If I was him I don't think I would nessicarily want to win seeing the recent track record of Heisman Trophy winners in bowl games.

TOBY GERHART, RB, STANFORD

Gerhart is one of the dark horses in this years voting. Gerhart put up amazing stats this season on a Stanford team that not only upset one BCS hopeful, but two! There is no denying his legitimacy however, just ask Charlie Weis.

MARK INGRAM, RB, ALABAMA

After a phenomenal SEC Championship game, Ingram did all but cement his ticket to New York. He's been great all season and as of now is considered the favorite to take home the statue.

CJ SPILLER, RB, Clemson

Spiller had a great SEC championship game (In a losing effort might I add.) and really made a strong case for himself as another dark horse in this year's race.

TIM "THE ALMIGHTY" TEBOW, QB, FLORIDA

While it's no secret that I loathe Tim Tebow with every fiber of my being, I can not deny his athletic acheivments. He's been a great college football player and is one heck of a leader who can get just about anyone to follow him. That being said, after him bawling his eyes out at the SEC championship game, I just can't get behind him.

NDAMUKONG SUH, DT, NEBRASKA

Don't ask me to pronounce his first name because I couldn't. Suh had a FANTASTIC Big 12 championship, giving Colt McCoy and his Longhorns all they could handle. He's a great player who I predict is going to make serious coin in the NFL.

If I had a vote? I'd choose McCoy, Ingram, and Gerhart. I honestly don't see what the fuss is about with Spiller, one good game and he's crowned king? I don't think so. I'd also like to throw in a honorable mention to Suh, but I still don't think he's going to get it.
